Strong Sponsor Lineup Announced for 2007 Honda Grand Prix of St. Petersburg
An impressive collection of local, regional and national corporations have signed on to sponsor the third annual running of the Honda Grand Prix of St. Petersburg.  Four new sponsors join title sponsor American Honda Motor Company at this year's event.  In addition, 18 additional sponsors have either renewed their agreement with the event or are continuing their association with the three-day festival of world class racing, concerts and interactive family-oriented experiences, which will be held in St. Petersburg March 30 through April 1.
Last week, Acura, a Division of American Honda Motor Company, announced that it will title the first American Le Mans Series race to be held in St. Petersburg.  In addition to the Acura Sports Car Challenge of St. Petersburg, Acura will continue to be associated with the popular Acura Yacht Club, located adjacent to the Honda Grand Prix of St. Petersburg track.
Argent Mortgage Company has signed a multi-year agreement to be a Major Associate Sponsor and the Official Financial and Mortgage Lending company for the event.  Argent provides nationwide mortgage lending products and services to independent mortgage brokers and has had a long-time association with IndyCar Series star and Andretti Green Racing team driver Danica Patrick.
OneAmerica will be a new Victory Circle sponsor in 2007.  OneAmerica's nationwide network of companies is based in Indianapolis and offers retirement plans, products and services; individual life insurance and annuities; long-term care solutions; and employee benefits.
Budweiser has also signed on as a sponsor of the 2007 event and is the Official Beer of the Honda Grand Prix.
“Over the last three years we have worked very hard to build a solid team of corporate partners, including those companies who can both bring support and resources from a variety of national efforts into this marketplace and those organizations who day-in and day-out are the local leaders of this community,” said Kevin Savoree, managing director of the event.  “There are many things that go into making the Honda Grand Prix of St. Petersburg a strong annual event in this area and at the top of that list are our corporate partners.  We truly could not stage an event of this magnitude without their partnership.”
A total of 18 sponsors have renewed their agreements with the event or are in the midst of multi-year agreements with the Honda Grand Prix of St. Petersburg.  These sponsors include 7-Eleven (renewed as an Associate Sponsor), ABC Supply (renewed as an Associate Sponsor), AirTran Airways (renewed as the Official Airline), Bay Front Medical Center (renewed as the Official Fan Care Provider), Canadian Club (renewed as the Official Spirit) and Bright House Networks (renewed as the Official Cable and High Speed Internet Provider).  Other sponsors signing renewal agreements include Forsythe Solutions (Official Technology Partner), Motorola (Official Wireless Communications Provider Products), Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, St. Petersburg Area Chamber of Commerce, Vonage (Official Feature-Rich Digital Phone Service Provider) and XM Satellite Radio (Official Satellite Radio Partner).
Among the sponsors who are continuing multi-year agreements with the event this year are Firestone (Major Associate Sponsor and the Official Tire), Gehl Corporation (Official Construction Equipment), Renaissance Vinoy Resort (Official Hotel and Resort) and the St. Petersburg Times (Official Print Media Sponsor).  The event also maintains a unique marketing partnership with the St. Petersburg Clearwater Area Convention and Visitors Bureau, which uses the Honda Grand Prix and other motorsports events to promote the St. Petersburg/Clearwater area.  The Honda Grand Prix also is continuing a corporate relationship with Progress Energy.
