Thomas Keeps it Clean on St. Pete Streets to win Mazda MX-5 Cup Race One

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (March 1, 2025) – Experience played a key factor in Round Three of the Whelen Mazda MX-5 Cup presented by Michelin at the Grand Prix of St. Petersburg on Saturday. The podium was composed of drivers with plenty of experience at the street circuit. Jared Thomas (No. 96 JTR Motorsports Engineering) led the way to the checkered flag, followed by teammate Glenn McGee (No. 69 JTR Motorsports Engineering) and Nathan Nicholson (No. 56 Advanced Autosports).

McNeilly Sweeps USF2000 Season Openers  at St. Petersburg

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – Liam McNeilly today ensured an almost perfect start to his USF2000 Presented by Continental Tire season by claiming his second win for Jay Howard Driver Development. McNeilly, 18, from London, England, also secured two of the three available bonus points after qualifying on pole position and leading all 20 laps in the second leg of The Foundation Building Materials Grand Prix of St. Petersburg to capture a total of 64 points – out of a maximum possible 66 – from the opening weekend of his rookie campaign.

Hauger Wins St. Petersburg Pole in Series Debut

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (Saturday, March 1, 2025) – Dennis Hauger continued his strong first weekend in INDY NXT by Firestone, winning the pole for the season-opening Grand Prix of St. Petersburg on Saturday with a track-record lap for the INDYCAR development series.
