O’Ward Out Front in First Day of Sebring Test

SEBRING, Fla. (Monday, Feb. 17, 2025) – Pato O’Ward was quickest overall as the countdown to the 2025 NTT INDYCAR SERIES season accelerated Feb. 17 during the first of two days of a Group Test at Sebring International Raceway.

O’Ward led the overall time charts with a top lap of 52.3470 seconds during the morning session in the No. 5 Arrow McLaren Chevrolet on the 1.67-mile “short course” at the historic circuit in Central Florida. The 26 participating drivers were separated into morning and afternoon groups, with each receiving four hours of track time.

(Feb. 13, 2025) - The Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg presented by RP Funding announced today a multi-year extension with Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital to continue as the race’s official healthcare partner through 2028. The healthcare organization has served as an integral partner of the annual motorsport event for many years, providing on-site care to both race fans and participants. 

Anticipation for Season Quickens with St. Pete Track Build

The countdown to the start of the 2025 NTT INDYCAR SERIES season received a turbo boost Thursday, Feb. 6 with the annual ceremonial start of the track build project for the Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg presented by RP Funding on Sunday, March 2.

City of St. Petersburg Mayor Ken Welch, Florida native and Andretti Global driver Kyle Kirkwood, event organizers and dignitaries were among those who gathered at the annual event to mark the start of construction on the 14-turn, 1.8-mile temporary street circuit that includes St. Petersburg city streets and a runway at Albert Whitted Airport.

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (Feb. 6, 2025) – INDYCAR Party in the Park and the 5K Run on the Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg Track will commence an action-packed Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg presented by RP Funding weekend on Thursday, Feb. 27. These community activities will take place in downtown St. Petersburg at North Straub Park and launch the festivities around the 21st annual running of this marquee motorsport event headlined by the NTT INDYCAR SERIES’ season-opening race. 

Johnson To Drive in Four INDY NXT Races for HMD

Nikita Johnson will drive for HMD Motorsports in four rounds of the 2025 INDY NXT by Firestone season in the No. 18 entry, team officials announced Jan. 30.

While his primary focus for 2025 will be a full-season campaign in the GB3 Championship, Johnson will compete in INDY NXT at the Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg, the doubleheader weekend at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course and the season finale at Nashville Superspeedway.

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (Jan. 15, 2025) - Single Day tickets to the 2025 Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg presented by RP Funding go on sale to the public tomorrow at 10 a.m. ET. Tickets will be available online at gpstpete.com for the 21st annual running of the iconic event in downtown St. Petersburg, Feb. 28 - March 2.

The 2025 IndyCar season promises to be the best that the series has ever seen. The broadcasting partnership with FOX Sports is already reaping benefits with fans commending their ingenious Josef Newgarden promo,which was released on Sunday, January 12.
